Willow Dental - The North Wales Dental and Implant Practice

Philips Zoom

Philips Zoom is only available at a dentist's office to ensure optimum safety, and comes in different treatment types and strengths to fit your lifestyle and sensitivity.

Zoom Home Whitening

For those that prefer to whiten at their convenience. Philips Zoom DayWhite and NiteWhite offer superior at-home whitening for a visibly whiter smile in one day and your whitest healthiest smile in seven to fourteen days. They are the only at-home whitening products to contain amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP), which is clinically proven to reduce sensitivity, protect enamel and help improve the lustre and smoothness of the teeth.

Zoom at-home whitening products are completely customisable. Louise creates a custom tray made just for you and can tailor the formula concentration and wear times to your sensitivity and lifestyle.

Zoom In-Surgery Whitening

The quickest, easiest way to effectively whiten your teeth is in-surgery treatment with Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed. Zoom WhiteSpeed is the only in-surgery system that has variable intensity setting so each treatment can be customised to maximise patient comfort. The system also includes desensitisers to help minimise sensitivity and protect your enamel. This dental therapist supervised, in-surgery procedure is safe, effective and clinically proven to whiten up to eight shades - for a brighter, whiter smile in just one visit.

How It Works

  • Louise will ensure your gums are protected with a special covering during the procedure.
  • A pH booster swab will be applied to your teeth, followed by a unique EU Compliant Zoom gel formula.
  • The gel is activated using the WhiteSpeed lamp to break down stains.
  • After 4 x 15 minute sessions you will see visible results and be provided with either our DayWhite or NiteWhite take-home kits to continue your whitening.

Managing Sensitivity

Everyone responds differently to whitening and sensitivity is sometimes a side effect of whitening treatments. Ask Louise about using a sensitivity toothpaste before and after your treatments. You can also use a mild desensitiser like Relief ACP in conjunction with your treatments to further minimise sensitivity.

Frequently asked questions

Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth with carbamide or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for teeth and gums.
What are the side effects?
The most common side effect is tooth and gum sensitivity. Your dentist is your best resource to ensure that you are a good candidate for whitening and that you are using the right concentration of whitening formula. Philips Zoom at-home whitening products have two mild desensitising agents, potassium nitrate and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP), to minimise tooth sensitivity.
What's the difference between over-the-counter whitening products and Philips Zoom?
Over-the-counter whitening products are not customised to your needs. With Philips Zoom, the whitening process is tailored to your needs by your dental professional, with custom-fitted trays for at-home treatments or just the right light intensity and duration in the dentist's office.
How long will my Zoom whitening results last?
Whitening treatments help to reduce existing stains, but through consumption of coffee, soft drinks or just through natural aging, your teeth may eventually become discoloured again. Maintenance whitening can help combat recurring discolouration. Only Philips Zoom at-home whitening products include ACP, which has been shown to help reduce whitening fade-back.
What causes teeth to discolour?
There are many causes to tooth discolouration. Some of the most common include the consumption of highly coloured foods and drinks (berries, coffee, tea, red wine). Some medications, aging, smoking and trauma can also cause teeth discolouration.
How long does it take?
With Philips Zoom, your teeth will be visibly whiter in one day. With Zoom in-office, you will achieve up to eight shades whiter in 45 minutes. With Zoom at-home, when used as instructed, you will achieve the same great results in one to two weeks, depending on concentration of formulation and wear time you select.
