Willow Dental - The North Wales Dental and Implant Practice

Implants

David has been placing implants for 20 years and has an advanced diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons. He carries out all aspects of implants: bone grafting, sinus lifting, placement and restoration from one implant to full mouth restoration.

About Implants

Implants are one of the best ways to replace missing teeth. Made of pure titanium and placed into the bone of the jaw, they are independent and require no drilling of adjacent teeth for bridgework and can remove the need for removable dentures.

This means they can be a permanent solution to tooth loss. Many patients tell us that once they have had the treatment they feel like they have their own teeth back. Implant treatment can give you back that natural smile that you've lost. The treatment can give you back confidence often making you look 10 years younger with natural-looking teeth.

Usual Treatment Sequence

Initial consultation
Here the patient gets information and an overview of what may be possible, plus a guide to cost.
Investigations
Planning is crucial to success and during this appointment we will carry out full examination of every part of the patient's mouth. This will include: moulds, gum examination, X-rays, possible CT scanning and clinical photographs.
Treatment planning
Once we have all the information the patient has the opportunity to sit down and discuss any options and finalise treatment planning.
Treatment
Once a treatment plan has been finalised and the patient has had their quotation and is happy we book a placement appointment. Often this is a long appointment and usually done using sedation to make it more comfortable.
Integration
Three months later the implants have integrated (knitted with the bone) and moulds are taken.
Fitting
Three weeks after that the final crowns, bridges, or prostheses are fitted.
