Willow Dental - The North Wales Dental and Implant Practice

About Willows Dental

At Willows Dental we truly believe that it is important to have fun. Our patients often comment that our staff are happy, welcoming and friendly.

We spend a lot of our time at our dental practice, and we find that this is most enjoyable when the patients that come to see us feel at ease. Therefore we do our utmost to ensure that you are happy and enjoy coming to see us. Our aim is to make you feel that you belong here and that you would be happy to refer your friends and family to us.

When you arrive you will be able to park outside Willows Dental, as we have our own car parking area, and on entering the building our reception is on the right.

You will more than likely have spoken to Nia or Debbie when you booked your appointment, and you will usually be greeted by one of them. If this is your first visit we will ask you to fill in a form for us providing all your details, and you can take a seat in our patient lounge, with a tea or coffee.

We provide disabled access at the front door and facilities to cater for our wheelchair-bound patients. Our ground floor surgery is fitted out accordingly and the chair is fully articulated to support all kinds of needs.

Dental treatment is provided in one of our three surgeries all of which have a relaxing outlook over the garden. It goes without saying that we have invested in the latest technology in order to provide the highest quality treatment for you, and again we endeavour to provide the treatment that you want in a relaxed and friendly manner. We understand that you may be nervous and not feel at your best in a dental practice, and for those of you who really find you struggle to attend at all, we do offer intravenous sedation, which can be a great help for you.

The secret of successful dental treatment is detailed planning

Our philosophy is to look further than just your teeth and gums, we will listen to what you want, and after providing a thorough examination we will sit with you and discuss all the options available to you in order to produce the result that you want.

Some patients' requirements are more complex than others, and if you have missing teeth, for example, we will often ask you to attend a further appointment for more detailed examination before putting together a treatment plan for you.

What we aim to achieve for you is full confidence in your smile, and a happy satisfied patient who will recommend friends to come and join us too.

Willows Dental - the highest quality treatment from the friendliest staff

Once you are a regular patient of ours you can rest assured that we will continue to send out your examination appointments, together with regular hygiene appointments, and that, should you have a problem, we will do our utmost to see you the same day.

We ask our patients for their views on our services and treatments and we welcome feedback. We have procedures in place for dealing promptly with patient complaints and to ensure we learn from any mistakes that we make.

Dr David J Lee OSJ BDS DipImpDent RCS (Eng) PG Cert Endodontology Dental/Implant Surgeon GDC 48402

David qualified in 1974 at Liverpool Dental School and, after a year as House Surgeon at Liverpool Royal Infirmary, he set up his own Dental Practice in 1976, re-opening an old, established dental practice. When the practice was relocated to a more convenient location in 1987 it was then named The Willows and he hasn't looked back since.

David has built up a reputation for excellence at the practice and he particularly enjoys the professional challenges that working at Willows Dental offers - especially from those patients who believe that nothing can be done for them. For instance, from 1988 he has offered intravenous sedation to make dental treatment more pleasant for patients.

David has obtained a Diploma in Implant Dentistry (with Advanced Certificate) obtained at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has also recently obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Endodontology (root canal treatment).

When not working at the practice David spends the rest of his waking hours with his three young children and doing long distance cycling. Occasionally both at the same time.

During 2010, he spent 8 days in August cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End for charity (a trip of almost 900 miles!).

Dr Janet Burthem BDS (Hons) Dental Surgeon GDC 67111

Janet qualified with honours from Liverpool Dental School in 1991 and has worked with David as one half of a husband and wife team at Willows Dental since 1993.

The fact that they are husband and wife, and are able to work closely means that the service they offer is unique. Janet carries out all aspects of general dentistry, but is also involved with implant cases, providing the initial consultations and input with the cosmetic, and occlusal (bite related) aspects of the treatment planning - as a feminine touch here is particularly important.

As a result of the in-depth knowledge required to ensure success in complex and cosmetic cases, Janet has developed a keen interest in occlusal problems and now spends a large proportion of her time treating problems such as head and neck aches and jaw joint problems.

Janet's passion for her work means that she continues to work almost full time despite the demands of also running a home and looking after three children. And just in case she may feel at a loss for something to do she is also a member of a cycling club and cycles as many miles each week as she can fit into her hectic schedule.
